The role of Shopper Marketing Manager works to create and execute Shopper Marketing programs across all our brands (including Valspar, Ronseal, Purdy and more) within all business channels and customers. Working closely with brand and product marketing functions and the sales teams within the Consumer Brands Group within Sherwin-Williams across Europe. The shopper team is responsible for delivering commercially led seasonal POS as well as permanent/semi-permanent retail executions, training and selling materials and impactful trade shows. This role will manage multiple projects from start to finish, from scoping requirements and creating briefs, timelines and budget plans to final instore executions.
This role is perfect for a Shopper Marketing Manager with previous experience and desire to manage up to 50 projects at any one time with the support of a small team.
Project management
Highly organized, this role manages multiple projects at one time across all brands & channels. This role is the go-to person for instore creative updates in-line with business communication needs.
Working closely with sales, Brand, Product and finance to assess ad-hoc in-store activity and leads the decision making around promotional opportunities, planning and delivering against agreed activities.
Creative briefing and management
Writes excellent creative briefs for design agencies to ensure category leading, innovative creative output across POS, MA's, trade shows and training kits that are fit for purpose and meet brand playbook guidelines and can be created within budget. Must develop excellent relationships with agency vendors in order to ensure on time delivery of creative design, logistics, approvals and leading implementation. Uses available consumer insights and gathers insights firsthand to drive creative innovation and ensure category leading innovation and ideas. Using close relationships with vendors is efficiently able to get guidelines quotes to contribute to innovative thinking and projects.
Gathers information and insight from channels, retailers and general shopper insights to support Senior Shopper Marketing Manager and wider team in delivering first class POS, MA and training kit solutions to retail customers to drive business across all channels of our business. Develops contacts and partnerships/relationships within key customers to aid acceptance and implementation of our activity and plans.
Supports Senior Shopper Marketing Manager with consumer and retail insights briefs, managing ad-hoc insights projects and reporting findings to wider marketing and sales team.
Supports or manages the planning and delivery of tradeshows (currently 4 per year) ensuring our brands are represented professionally and innovatively. Creative review
Responsible for creating a review timeline for all existing POS, MA's and training kits and ensuring they meet brand guidelines and are flagged for update to Senior Shopper Marketing Manager to prioritise renewal projects - coordinating on suitable stock levels for replacement with Shopper Marketing Assistant.
Degree in Marketing or relevant experience
Experience working in a marketing or visual merchandising environment
Experience managing multiple projects, organised with excellent time management
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Shopper, Trade Marketing or Brand Marketing Experience (DIY experience desirable but not essential)
