Role Title: Senior Manager – Electrical Systems
Hybrid working with one of the following locations as your primary site: We are Rolls-Royce SMR and we're doing something that's never been done before. That's a once-in-a-career opportunity for those excited by such a challenge. The electrical engineering team is responsible for the delivery of complete design of the electrical systems, spanning system architecture, sub-system and components, equipment specification and selection, data and analysis to support the design development and providing design assurance to ensure safe and reliable electrical plant for the SMR.
You will do this by working closely with the engineering teams from across the power station (e.g., Lead the development and delivery of electrical system designs across the SMR programme.
Manage electrical systems data and analysis teams to improve efficiency, reliability, and safety.
Ensure standardisation of design principles, architecture, and equipment across the power station.
Support capability development and continuous improvement within the electrical engineering organisation.
Comprehensive Electrical Systems Design Proficiency: Significant experience in the full lifecycle of electrical system design, including specification, assessment, verification, testing, installation, commissioning, and maintenance.
A strong understanding of fault resilience principles (e.g. redundancy and diversity) is essential.
Adherence to Industry Standards: Deep knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations that drive good electrical system design.
Experience applying systems engineering methodologies, including Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), to electrical systems.
Demonstrated leadership in electrical engineering, with the ability to provide technical oversight and act as an intelligent customer for external design packages.
Training & Qualification Requirements
Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience (Applicants without a degree who can demonstrate suitable experience will also be considered)
