Are you looking for a new challenge and want to be part of a global business? We have a new role to join our European IT team based in the UK. This is a home-based role working within a growing cross functional team and offers opportunity to be hands on with the latest Salesforce products.
Your role
Reporting to the Salesforce Technical Manager you will be instrumental to the expansion of the European Salesforce solution, a key deliverable on our transformation project roadmaps.
This role will require you to effectively manage the Salesforce release processes. You should have experience with JIRA, GIT and CI.CD. You will be overseeing the end to end process of deploying changes, updates and configruations within the Salesforce platform.
Whilst this role will focus on priority of ensuring releases are planned, managed and delivered, there will also be a need to be hands on in terms of Salesforce development and support when required. Therefore Salesforce experience is a MUST. There may also be a requirement to support in the testing of tickets.
The Salesforce Team is a growing team in an existing time at JELD-WEN where a global transformational program is driving the business forward which includes CPQ, Telephony and a new Salesforce Org roadmap amongst other initiatives related to the Salesforce Estate.
What your impact will be
- As release manager you will schedule, coordinate and oversee the deployment of updates for our Salesforce estate without disrupting on-going operations
- Responsible for respresenting the Salesforce estate at the CAB approval meetings aligned to the European JELD-WEN process
- Monitor Salesforce updates and ensure the team are prepared for key releases
- Keep track of all changes made to Salesforce and ensure alignment within the team
- Testing oversight and deployment management to ensure all changes are tested properly. (This may involve hands on testing work)
- Leading on the improvement of our release and pipeline management proceses. This includes GIT, JIRA and CI/CD
- Ensure that information flows smoothly and that everyone is kept informed about the progress of the project.
- Plan the release of project deliverables and release life cycle
- Coordinate the release schedule and resources required depending upon the third-party applications, defect backlogs, planned releases, and infrastructure updates
- Identify the risks that can delay the release and manage them, such that the scope scheduled, and quality of the release is not affected
- Create plans for the implementation and deployment as per the release schedule
- Where required this person will also need to be hands on to support with admin and / or developement of the Salesforce estate. Also provide support on testing if required.
What you'll need to succeed
- 2+ years experience working with Salesforce.
- 3+ years working with release management responsibilities
- 3+ years working with GIT and branching stratergies
- Experience in working with DevOps (asset) and Agile methodologies
- Working knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle
- Working knowledge of APEX
- Experience of CI/CD
- Knowledge of traditional agile methodologies, including Scrum, Waterfall, or Kanban
- Good understanding of application, system and Salesforce architecture
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
