What you will do

Currently we have an opportunity for an experienced Biofuels Trading Analyst in ExxonMobil Global Trading. The successful candidate will be based in London and work closely with the biofuel's traders. They will be responsible for recommending profitable trading opportunities, arbitrage analysis and flows tracking.

The key deliverables for this position:

  • Research / monitor regulations & market disruptions to find and communicate tradeable insights.
  • Develop models to quantify fundamentals with linkages to price.
  • Provide economic analysis for opportunity evaluation and capture learnings from missed opportunities.
  • Support derivatives trading and policy with analysis of new and existing usage of derivative instruments.
  • Formulate proposals for profitable optimization, trading, and origination strategies.
  • Advance analytical tools using the latest methods and techniques leveraging on the full range of applicable internal and external data.
  • Contribute to special projects, strategy studies, and new market entries.
  • Support ad hoc strategy development studies.
  • Liaise with our global trading hubs.
About you

To be eligible for this role, you should: 

  • Be educated to Degree level (or equivalent) in an analytical discipline e.g. Engineering, Science, Economics, Finance, Mathematics or Statistics (or hold other relevant industry experience)
  • Have at least 2 years prior working experience in the Biofuels (Fame) and/or Vegetable Oils commercial markets, working directly with Traders 
  • Have a high commercial drive to apply analysis to create market insights 
  • Be able to demonstrate strong numerical, analytical and modelling skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate in a clear, concise and engaging manner, enabling questioning of analysis and encouraging debate 
  • Be able to showcase initiative, tenacity and drive for continuous improvement
  • Have a sound knowledge of the derivatives, forecast methodologies and arbitrage calculations
  • Have solid IT skills with ability to develop complex models in Excel and / or the use main programming languages
  • Enjoy working collaboratively within both the analytical and trading community, regionally and across the globe
Preferred Qualifications / Experience
  • Expert proficiency in programming skills such as Python, R, SQL, Tableau and Dataiku
  • In depth knowledge of derivatives
