Job Description

Role Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Market Analyst to join our team at Argus Media. As a Market Analyst, you will be responsible for monitoring and assessing markets to produce daily price assessments, market commentaries, news, and reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and assess markets to produce daily price assessments, market commentaries, news, and reports
  • Daily contact with biofuels producers, traders, brokers, and other key market participants, including governmental bodies, to build relationships and gather news
  • Contribute copy to relevant daily and periodical publications and the online news service
  • Attend meetings, conferences, and industry events to build contacts, report on news, and represent Argus Media externally

Requirements

  • A graduate with a strong degree in a relevant field
  • Proven ability to develop, source, and write industry-relevant news to deadline
  • Knowledge of the energy and commodity sectors is an advantage but not essential
  • Excellent written, grammatical, and numeracy skills, and ability to write engaging content
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to network and build contacts with industry executives
  • Prior experience of working in the financial or energy journalism sector is an advantage but not essential
  • Strong coordination and time management skills with the ability to work well within a team
  • Additional languages are an advantage but not essential
