Winterfold’s initial product – the Green Tax Navigator – provides users with information about the environmental taxes enacted by each country. It is also able to analyze a company’s global footprint and provide guidance on which taxes in which countries should be applicable to the business, so filtering out much of the “noise” of the on-going legislative expansion. The Green Tax Navigator also addresses compliance with these taxes.

Building content for environmental tax products will be a key component to Winterfold’s growth and success.

About the Job

The Tax Content Manager is responsible for research, configuration, ongoing maintenance, enhancements, and testing of content to ensure that the Winterfold Group web site, applications and offerings remain current with environmental tax rule developments and laws in complex and demanding tax jurisdictions. Initial geographic scope will be Europe with expansion into North America, Asia Pacific and LATAM on the roadmap.

About the Role

Major Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Represent Tax Content effectively as a subject matter expert/project point person on projects and initiatives both internally and with content partners
  • Research, analyze, interpret, and document environmental tax laws and regulations over a wide range of demanding jurisdictions
  • Anticipate and assess the impact of proposed regulatory developments to stay ahead of changes in laws and regulations impacting Winterfold’s software applications
  • Model and implement support for new environmental taxes; implement content changes; complete work within prescribed content deadlines
  • Design and execute test scenarios to ensure content accuracy, functionality, and usability
  • Correspond with tax authorities on complex and contradictory matters
  • Research, respond, and resolve client issues in partnership with Customer Support
  • Contribute to the development of requirements for tax application features and functionality in partnership with Product Management
  • Provide recommendations on complex tax and legal issues; communicate issues in an understandable manner to non-tax professionals
  • Potential to grow into a content lead role in the future as Winterfold expands its coverage both in terms of new legislative developments and wider geographic application
  • The postholder will report to the Head of Product and will contribute to the planning, budgeting and forecasting efforts for the Product Team

About You

Essential Skills:

  • Indirect tax experience, either with industry or an advisory firm; (ideally) environmental taxes
  • Experience communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented with an aptitude for analysis and problem-solving including the ability to interpret, analyze, and organize detailed legal material
  • Ability to utilize online research tools
  • Ability to consistently meet rigid and recurring deadlines
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, including experience in editing the presentation of tax and/or technical subjects
  • Superior organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
  • Competent software skills (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Word, Access)
  • Ability to work and learn independently with minimal supervision
  • Written and spoken fluency in English

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with researching content for incorporation into a technical software application
  • Proficiency in languages other than English

Compensation

Attractive package depending on experience with possibility of coming on in a contractor role if desired.
