The Role: 2nd Line Infrastructure Support Engineer:

  • As a 2nd Line Support Engineer, you will oversee the setup process for end-user devices (laptops, desktops, and tablets), from purchase through deployment, updating the user on progress and is satisfied with the configuration.
  • You’ll be responsible for handling and resolving IT support queries and service requests from customers and project teams, ensuring smooth issue resolutions.
  • You will have the opportunity to participate in occasional project work or provide on-site support when needed.
  • You will track installations of hardware and software, manage and prioritise support requests, and update configuration management records.

To Be Successful:

  • You will need strong hands-on 2nd Line Support experience in an IT Service Desk role.
  • You should have deep expertise in supporting Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, and Azure AD.
  • You’ll need to be proficient in Microsoft Server 2012 and above, DHCP, DNS, Group Policies, Anti-Virus, and key networking principles.
  • Preferably, you will have a background working in a managed services or customer-focused IT support environment.
  • It is essential to possess a valid driving license (or actively working towards obtaining a driving license) as occasional travel will be required
  • Any additional knowledge of Firewalls, VMware/Hyper-V, Backups, and N-Able would be highly advantageous.

Location: Poole, Dorset – predominantly office-based with some flexible and hybrid working available. Some travel may be required across Dorset from time to time.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day. (Core hours are 7:30am to 5:30pm with shifts to cover these times; you can choose your working pattern during the interview process depending on your circumstances/requirements).
