Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our team on a live oil and gas plant in Teesside. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing multi-disciplinary projects, particularly those involving pipe work, hot work, and live equipment. This is a contract role inside IR35, and we are looking for someone available immediately.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide project engineering expertise for project management, design, engineering, and construction activities.
  • Be a Safety Leader, ensuring compliance with UK legislative, regulatory, and corporate requirements.
  • Manage and deliver assigned multi-discipline projects on Teesside to meet or exceed customer requirements, on time and within budget.
  • Provide technical leadership on engineering best practices.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Ensure all project activities comply with HSE, commercial, and legislative obligations.
  • Develop and execute project plans from scope definition through to commissioning.
  • Manage project cost control, schedule attainment, and cost forecasting.
  • Support the development of engineering specifications, standards, and procedures.
  • Conduct technical evaluation of tenders and select contractors.
  • Perform equipment evaluations and oversee factory/site acceptance testing.
  • Ensure projects comply with CDM regulations and COMAH requirements.
  • Provide handover documentation and training for new equipment integration.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline (preferably chartered status).
  • Strong experience in project engineering or project management roles.
  • Extensive knowledge of engineering principles and their application.
  • Experience in managing projects involving storage tank overhauls, repairs, and cleaning methods (preferred).
  • Familiarity with CDM Regulations and COMAH requirements.
  • Extensive operation and maintenance experience in the oil & gas industry or other regulated industries.
  • Knowledge of DSEAR and ATEX legislation.
  • Effective interpersonal, leadership skills, and supervisory competence.
  • Ability to work on plant in restricted areas, at height, and entry to confined spaces.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and ability to drive company vehicles.
