Fixed Term Contract – 12-months (Maternity Cover) Grade D - £45,091 – £53,460 Consultation grade - subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review Working 36.5 hours per week We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our multi-disciplinary Public Health Division in a Public Health Senior Officer – Physical Activity role. This is a rare opportunity for a skilled individual to join Public Health within the largest Local Authority in the country and lead work that contributes to Birmingham being a great city that enables people to live healthy and active lives. The Public Health Division is engaged in a dynamic and diverse range of innovative work at a local, regional, national and international level. The post holder will support the Service Lead to meet the work programme of the Physical Activity team. You will be educated to Degree level with a public health component (or have equivalent experience). We Are Looking For a Highly Skilled Officer With Strong Experience In Delivering PA Interventions To Join The Largest LA In Europe To Help Us Improve Health And Reduce Inequalities. This Is An Ideal Opportunity For Somebody Who Can Cover The Following Having a strong understanding of the Creating an Active Birmingham (CAB) Strategy, alignment with the Health and Wellbeing Board’s priorities, the Council’s Corporate Plan and the NHS long-term Plan. Leading on the Active Travel agenda of the CAB Strategy Working with Adults Social Care and Children’s Services to influence care plans Lead and support on work supporting PA in secondary care, including Falls Prevention Support and build on the evidence base for PA Have an oversight of commissioning/ procurement activity Support recruitment for any new and/or vacant posts Matrix manage the officer in the team Supporting financial management of PH PA budget Please upload your up-to-date CV via the attachments part of your application, this is required for shortlisting.
