We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our multi-disciplinary Public Health Division in a Public Health Senior Officer – Physical Activity role. This is a rare opportunity for a skilled individual to join Public Health within the largest Local Authority in the country and lead work that contributes to Birmingham being a great city that enables people to live healthy and active lives.
The Public Health Division is engaged in a dynamic and diverse range of innovative work at a local, regional, national and international level.
The post holder will support the Service Lead to meet the work programme of the Physical Activity team. You will be educated to Degree level with a public health component (or have equivalent experience).
We Are Looking For a Highly Skilled Officer With Strong Experience In Delivering PA Interventions To Join The Largest LA In Europe To Help Us Improve Health And Reduce Inequalities. Having a strong understanding of the Creating an Active Birmingham (CAB) Strategy, alignment with the Health and Wellbeing Board’s priorities, the Council’s Corporate Plan and the NHS long-term Plan.
Leading on the Active Travel agenda of the CAB Strategy
Working with Adults Social Care and Children’s Services to influence care plans
Have an oversight of commissioning/ procurement activity
Supporting financial management of PH PA budget
