Solutions Consultant - EMEA

We have an exciting opportunity for a Solutions Consultant to work with a leading global video & voice collaboration solutions provider. In this role you will act as a trusted advisor to clients throughout the complete project cycle from qualification through delivery. You will operate independently (in parallel with the Project Manager) during pre and post-sales engagements developing relationships with technical peers in the client organization, and onsite with customers during deployments. You will promote best practice through service product knowledge, opportunity awareness, and sales support as the organizations professional service experts.

Business travel within Europe 15-30%

Key responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Project Managers and Service Delivery team to develop, design, and create SOW’s and solution design deliverables for technical deployments of products as a solution.
  • Review and support design for Microsoft, Zoom, Pexip and Polycom Unified Communications solutions
  • Undertake technical product initiatives to further the interests of:- the Solution Consultants group; the client quality experience within commercial goals; winning business
  • Provide internal business partnership to key stakeholders
  • Support to Service Delivery Management, including but not limited to:- Contribution to infrastructure design processes; Identifying improvements associated with tools and techniques utilised by the Solution Consultants and Field Teams; Contributing to solution consultant training materials, tools and delivery; Taking technical lead on relevant new product introductions.
  • Develop & deliver presentations to customers and partners
  • Provide technical leadership in project situations
  • Provide ongoing coaching & development of field resources
  • Provide technical support for pre-sales project opportunities
  • Provide support for RFI/ RFP including developing standard material
  • Build of Technical architecture reports for major account engagements
  • Be key focus on the technical resource needs, and deployment decisions for multiple projects

Key skills and experience sought:

Qualifications:

  • Higher education of at least 2 years study with formal qualification
  • Achieved certification or undergoing training for OS and/or networking qualification

Essential:

  • 5+ years’ experience in a mixture of networking, network applications and major account development
  • Good knowledge of Operating systems and IT infrastructure (both desktop and server) to include:- Operating System Skills – Microsoft Servers/Active Directory; Network skills; Cisco Certified Network Associate CCNA / CCNP or equivalent (Juniper/3Com/Nortel etc)
  • Working Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, switches, Routers, Firewalls (NAT & PAT translations), IP telephony, VLAN’s, QoS.
  • Demonstrable working knowledge of H.320, H.323 and SIP protocols.
  • Demonstrable working knowledge of Polycom or competing videoconferencing infrastructure
  • Experienced in the ‘consultative’ approach to selling - ‘trusted advisor’
  • Excellent communication skills (spoken and written English as well as in regional local language)
  • Good influencing & project management skills
  • Strong commercial awareness and of common business processes
  • Requires high level of intellectual commitment with strong awareness of client and related industry trends and be able to interpret these to company obligations to the client
  • Excellent customer focus and adaptability.
  • Punctuality and presentation should be reflective of the high-ranking level of engagement this role will be involved in
  • Ability to be self motivated, pro-active and to work in a small team
  • Good fault-finding skills with logical approach to problem determination
  • Weekend work in support of projects and field resources is required
  • Provide written reports on problem analysis on cases escalated to R&D for resolution.

Desirable:

  • Microsoft design experience either through a competitor, channel partner or service provider
  • Microsoft FastTrack or Office 365 training/certification
  • Working knowledge of SfB, O365 and Microsoft 365 Collaboration
  • MCSA / MCSE
  • Experience with Polycom, Cisco or similar video solutions
  • Other European language skills, particularly German/Spanish/French.
  • CCDP / CCDE
  • VOIP
