About the Role

Applications are sought for a Clinical Research Fellow in Urological Cancer MDT Transformation to undertake an innovative project to improve decision-making in cancer care across North East London. Specifically we have synergistic projects to reduce treatment variation, implement cancer MDT streamlining and embed predict prostate in clinical practice. The post would suit trainees between Core and Specialist training, but more experienced candidates will be considered. The post-holder will also gain hands-on experience in conducting clinical research and gain opportunity to present results at national and international conferences, publish in peer reviewed journals and apply for funding leading to a higher degree.

About You
The postholder must have a medical degree from a recognized institution, GMC registration and have completed a minimum of 2 years of core surgical training, radiology training or histopathology training or equivalent, ideally with at least 6 months experience in urology at core trainee or specialty trainee level. Desirable requirements include Royal College post graduate specialty exams or equivalent. Experience in project management, conducting outpatient clinics, data collection and statistical analysis would be advantageous. A demonstrated ability to communicate well and work within a team is also essential.

About the School/Department/Institute/Project
Barts Cancer Institute (BCI) is part of the Cancer Research UK City of London Centre, and aims to transform the lives of those with and at risk of cancer through innovative research. The project will be implemented across all secondary care providers within the North East London Integrated Care System. The role will require actively engaging with key primary and secondary care stakeholders, community and faith groups, charities, Cancer Alliance members, and research teams.
