The Clinical Research Fellow (CRF) will be an integral part of the Cough and Respiratory Physiology Research team at King’s College Hospital. The primary focus will be to investigate the burden and prevalence of cough and symptoms of cough hypersensitivity in chronic respiratory diseases. In addition, the CRF will be part of the cough research team at King’s College Hospital, and will facilitate the everyday running of clinical trials on cough.

The main duties of the job will be to perform cough and respiratory physiology research procedures, including participant assessment, informed consent, clinical examination, questionnaires, capsaicin challenge test, respiratory muscle testing and research record keeping. The CRF will assist in recruitment of patients into both academic and commercial research and will take take responsibility for the care of patients who are taking part in clinical trials. The CRF will ensure that study documentation is maintained and is accurate and accessible for monitoring and auditing. The CRF will be involved in the supervision of BSc and MSc project students. The CRF will also be involved in the presentation and dissemination of research data at internal and external meetings and conferences.

The Clinical Research Fellow (CRF) will be an integral part of the Cough Research team at King’s College Hospital. The primary focus will be to investigate the burden and prevalence of cough and symptoms of cough hypersensitivity in chronic respiratory diseases. In addition, the CRF will be part of the cough research team at King’s College Hospital, and will facilitate the everyday running of clinical trials on cough.

The Cough and Respiratory Physiology Research team is a multidisciplinary team, made up of consultants, research fellows, research practitioners and research nurses. The team work on both academic and commercial research, including clinical trials of novel drugs. The team is collaborative and supportive of each others work, including in the presentation of data at research meetings and conferences.
