Belvedere Mead is a small and dynamic company based in EC3, London, providing flexible and trusted assistance to insurers, MGAs, reinsurers and brokers who operate in the Lloyd’s and London Insurance Market. The company was established in 2010 and has had organic growth since those early days with a staff totalling between 10 and 15 people.
Role Overview
We are looking to appoint an individual with at least 18 months experience gained as an insurance and reinsurance premium processing technician. The experience must be gained within a broker operating within the London Insurance Market, as knowledge of the London Market bureau systems is a necessity.
The main tasks will be the analysis and processing of information to create necessary accounting transactions on pro rata reinsurance treaty business, alongside assisting in the production of key metrics and reports to support the team’s work.
In time, the role could ultimately expand into other areas of the delivery of our claims, support and audit services.
Key Responsibilities
Your experience will enable you to become the main account handler for a number of the individual cedants for a major broker client of Belvedere Mead.
You will be expected to manage a portfolio of accounts and take responsibility for all aspects of presenting the financial statements to reinsurers, following through on any queries raised, monitoring settlement and credit control and maintaining accurate workflow records.
You must be keen and willing to share your experience with other less experienced team members.
The role may also include associated tasks such as:
- Production of regular Management Information and Key Performance Indicators.
- Take notes and draft minutes of regular internal meetings
- Managing bookings for meeting rooms and ensuring the IT comms are set up for meetings.
Qualifications and Skills Requirements.
- At least 18 months of hands-on experience of processing reinsurance premiums within the London Insurance Market and able to demonstrate strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Be customer focused – always have the client’s best interests in mind and be able to assist advise and solve customer problems.
- Be organised with an orderly approach to work, able to prioritise own workloads across a number of competing accounts/clients.
- Have a keenness to learn and a willingness to be flexible in the tasks allocated with an ability to work independently but also be team-oriented.
- Have an eye for detail, with strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Be open to change and strive to improve efficiency and effectiveness for themselves, the team and clients.
- Studying or a desire to study towards their insurance qualifications, having been educated to A' Levels or equivalent standard.
Pay and Benefits
The role will require the individual to work for 35 hours per week and be primarily based in our London office.
Belvedere Mead believes in the London Living Wage and will pay the hourly rate as indicated by the Living Wage Foundation with increases on the 1 st January each year. The current rate is £13.15 per hour. The salary range for this role will be between the London Living wage and £30,000 per annum depending on the experience of the individual employed.
You will also be entitled to 28 days, including Bank Holidays, of Paid Leave
