2nd Line Engineer – IT Infrastructure & Cloud

If so, Chapman Tate Associates is thrilled to present an exciting opportunity for a 2nd Line Engineer to join a fast-paced, innovative MSP client.

As a 2nd Line Engineer , you will be the go-to person for technical issues escalated from the 1st line team. You’ll troubleshoot, resolve, and maintain IT infrastructure and cloud-based solutions, ensuring clients experience seamless service delivery. This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of technologies, including Windows and Linux environments, making every day unique and challenging.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 2nd line technical support for a range of IT infrastructure and cloud environments.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Collaborate with 1st and 3rd line teams to escalate and resolve complex technical problems.
  • Implement and maintain cloud services, including Microsoft Azure or AWS.
  • Contribute to the deployment and management of virtualized environments (VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Work on Linux-based systems (nice-to-have skill).
  • Document solutions, processes, and provide feedback for continuous improvement.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in a 2nd line support role within an MSP environment.
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, including Windows Server, Active Directory, and Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
  • Experience working with Linux systems is highly desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with a client-focused mindset.
