Experience Designer – Midweight – Working On Nectar - 12m FTC

We work across a range of services, products, touch points and tools to deliver distinctive, integrated, and consistent experiences for our customers and colleagues across Sainsbury’s Group (which includes Sainsbury’s Food, Argos, Nectar, Tu and Habitat). 
We drive brilliant experiences across all our brands in-store and online, operating in agile teams and squads, working seamlessly with teams right across the business to make the most of the exceptional knowledge, insight, and talent we have. 

This is an exciting role in the Customer Loyalty team , designing experiences for the Nectar App, website and wider Nectar experiences across our Ecosystem . We also work with hundreds of partners across retail, travel and more, that includes some of the UK's favourite brands, such as Avios and Esso to offer our customers real value.

As an Experience Designer, you will be responsible for understanding how our customers shop with us, what value and loyalty means to them, what their pain points are and what the moments of delight could be when interacting with the Nectar proposition. You will take those customer pain points and the business needs and design solutions that make customers’ experiences using the Nectar App and website as easy, fun and joyful as possible. 

We work agile so you will be in our Digital Experience Design Team, but you will be working very closely with product and engineering to make sure we are consistently putting the customer at the heart of what we do. 

You will be regularly collaborating with teams and stakeholders from other parts of the business who will rely on your knowledge of user experience, accessibility, and service design. This role is highly collaborative and will look at customers experience end to end and across channels, from online to in store and from brand new customer and those who have used Nectar for years.

You will have had lots of experience of user experience design for digital products and be able to use design thinking to plan out that work, getting feedback from stakeholders. With tight feedback loops and the ability to bring about huge changes to our customers, this position offers an extremely rewarding design role. 


Perform your own desk and in-store research to explore and iterate design solutions. 
Organise design workshops with stakeholders to articulate customer and business problems and what the possible solutions might be. 
Work with the Design Systems team to understand which components exist and contribute back ideas to improve the customer experience. 
Work with the content strategists and accessibility specialist to make sure you are design the best experience for all our customers and colleagues. 
Design and test concepts and solutions. 
Work within agile teams across product, design, and engineering to get your solutions into the hands of our customers and colleagues. 
Be part of an exciting design community, pairing up with other designers and sharing ideas to constantly iterate the customer experience. 


Industry experience as a UX or Product Designer is essential. These skills will help you thrive in a dynamic team like ours. 
Strong UX/ Product design skills  
Knowledge of how to design inclusively  
Industry experience as a UX or Product Designer
Skilled in planning and conducting user research and distilling findings into actionable insights
Proficient in applying UX fundamentals, including insight gathering, workshop facilitation, information architecture, Interface and interaction design and clearly documented design artifacts

A mature design system and set of standards to work with
