Special Education Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable SEN teacher to join our pool of educators in Birmingham. This is a flexible, on-call position that requires a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification. As a Substitute Teacher, you will be responsible for stepping into classrooms across a range of subjects and year groups, ensuring that students continue to receive high-quality education during the absence of their regular teacher.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver lesson plans and effectively manage classroom activities.
  • Maintain continuity of learning by following school policies and procedures.
  • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for all students.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of individual learners where necessary.
  • Uphold high standards of behaviour management in line with school policies.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and school leadership teams.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Strong classroom management skills with the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work across different subjects and key stages.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive and positive approach to covering a wide range of subjects and year groups.
  • A current DBS check, or willingness to undertake one.

Desirable:

  • Experience teaching in different schools and settings.
  • A specialism in a particular subject or Key Stage is an advantage but not essential.
