Bennamann is seeking an experienced engineer to take responsibility for the technical leadership of designing and developing Bennamann’s suite of existing and new floating smart slurry lagoon cover products.

This role has a key focus on PVC floating solutions to cover earth bunded and steel walled slurry lagoons to prevent rainwater ingress, reduce ammonia emissions and capture fugitive methane. Experience in slurry management and handling, farm experience, alternative slurry lagoons, mixing, pumping etc., will all be useful.

This is a full-time site-based role; the successful candidate will be based near Truro, Cornwall. Salary c£60,000 p/a depending on experience.

 

Leadership & Operational responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for technical leadership and delivery of Bennamann’s suite of floating cover products.
  • Management of a small team of engineers to develop innovative solutions to cover farm slurry lagoons. 
  • Design and development of cover products with customer, manufacturability, and deployment in mind.
  • Undertake, design, manufacture and assembly of Bennamann products in the workshop and through an approved supply base.
  • Drive product changes through documented change management process.
  • Develop an engineered deployment solution for farm slurry lagoon installations.
  • Create and maintain material and labour costs for project estimates and sales process. 
  • Act as engineering customer with suppliers and 3rd parties to ensure equipment and assemblies meet the necessary design and legal requirements. 
  • Liaise with the Production Team & Site Supervisor / Operations Manager in the planning of the work programme and optimisation of the designs for effective installation and servicing. 
  • Maintain a good working relationship with colleagues and peers, reflecting Bennamann values.
  • Follow procedures to ensure compliance with company ISO standards, aligning with responsibility and accountability for actions as documented within HR-101a MyC RACI.

 

Qualifications/Experience

Experienced in design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of slurry lagoon covers, preferably floating.

Experienced in farm slurry management systems and/or AD sites and with a wide range of slurry storage solutions. (Lagoons, tanks, towers etc.) 

Experienced in PVC sheet material structure design, welding and fabrication.

Experienced in low pressure gas systems.

Knowledge/Experience of:

· SSAFO regulations

· EA Permitted Activities and best Available Techniques for AD sites.

· Pressure Equipment regulations.

· IGEM standards.

· DSEAR and Atex Directives
