Role purpose

As a Senior Consultant at Control Risks, you will serve as an integral member of our team, providing strategic and operational risk and resilience management solutions to clients across a range of industries. This is a client facing consultant role where you will support and manage tasks related to the sale and delivery of crisis, risk, and security consulting assignments in the UK and more broadly within EMEA when required.

Tasks & Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide expert advice and support to clients in identifying and mitigating a range of business risks related so security, resilience and continuity, developing risk mitigation strategies and implementing risk management frameworks.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients' risk profiles, using advanced analytical tools and methodologies.
  • Develop and deliver engaging presentations and reports to clients, effectively communicating complex concepts.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to design tailor-made solutions that address clients' unique risk challenges.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in risk and resilience management, continuously enhancing your knowledge and expertise.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, coach and mentor

Requirements

  • Education : A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in a relevant field such as security studies, risk and resilience, business administration, or a related discipline or similar experience.
  • Experience : Significant recent and relevant work experience in risk management, security consulting, resilience management, or a related field. Professional services background, or experience within large multinational corporation is beneficial.
  • Analytical Skills : Strong analytical and critical thinking skills are essential for assessing complex situations, identifying potential risks, and developing effective strategies for clients. Experience conducting risk assessments, scenario planning, and threat analysis is highly beneficial.
  • Industry Knowledge : A deep understanding of global dynamics, security threats, regulatory environments, and industry-specific challenges is important for advising clients across various sectors.
  • Communication Skills : Excellent written and verbal communication skills are crucial for effectively communicating with clients, preparing reports, delivering presentations, and liaising with internal teams. Fluency in English is required, and proficiency in other languages advantageous.
  • Interpersonal Skills : The ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders is key for success in a consulting role. Senior consultants should demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to work effectively in diverse, cross-functional teams.
  • Project Management : Experience managing projects, coordinating resources, and meeting deadlines is important for executing client engagements efficiently and delivering high-quality results. Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., PMI, Agile) may be beneficial.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability : The ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous, and dynamic environments is essential for senior consultants at Control Risks. Candidates should demonstrate flexibility, resilience, and the capacity to adapt to changing circumstances and client need.
