About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join our team at Hays Senior Finance. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting and financial management of our charity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide financial advice and analysis to the CEO and senior leadership team.
  • Manage the finance committee, including attending meetings and preparing/distributing papers.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and senior leadership team to develop the financial strategy.
  • Lead the preparation of statutory year-end accounts and implement auditors' recommendations.
  • Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and cashflow positions in consultation with the CEO.
  • Produce monthly and quarterly management accounts with plain English commentary for non-finance audiences.
  • Oversee the coordination of incoming donations and payments.
  • Prepare annual donor statements.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare VAT returns and advise on registration issues.
  • Ensure compliance, payroll, and pension returns, as well as Gift Aid claims, are accurate and submitted on time.
  • Authorise bank payments using online banking/BACS.

Requirements:

  • Experience in accounting and financial management, preferably in the charity sector.
  • Strong communication skills for liaising with stakeholders and presenting at committee and board levels.
  • Self-sufficiency and confidence in decision-making, as you will operate independently.
