Leeds, United Kingdom Willmott Dixon Full time

Willmott Dixon is seeking a passionate and engaging social value lead to support our Northern Construction business. Leading a team of social value professionals, you will drive social value delivery mostly in Yorkshire and the Northeast, across Leeds, Newcastle and Sheffield.

The role includes supporting the delivery of our ambitious Now or Never Sustainability Strategy and working closely with customers and our supply chain partners.

This role is flexible in location allowing you to be based in the Northeast with hybrid working encouraged. The role will require frequent travel to our Leeds office and occasional planned travel to our Manchester and Newcastle offices.

You will thrive in this role if you have an in-depth understanding of social value delivery (not necessarily in the construction industry) along with tender bidding and a customer focused approach to shaping and implementing social value solutions. You will also be a strategic and creative thinker. This position would suit someone who has experience in leading a team, delivering social value outcomes in a fast-paced environment, can inspire, loves networking, and has a passion to support the people and businesses in our communities to thrive.

  • Ensures achievement of project and Company social value targets.
  • Ensures internal and external compliance across all projects.
  • Proactively disseminates social value expertise and provide leadership, guidance, and training to key people.
  • Manages the marketing and communication of social value achievements.
  • Cultivates a culture with all our people so that they understand the role they need to play in leaving a legacy and harnessing their ideas into deliverables.
  • Identifies networking opportunities and play an active role in attending and presenting at an industry level to ensure we are seen to be market leaders.
  • Line management and leadership of the Social Value Team.
  • Manages the allocation of social value resources.

Essential

  • Able to use Microsoft suite of office programmes including Excel, Word, Outlook and Project.
  • Good level of education including Maths and English (both written and spoken).
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

  • Facilitation/Coaching experience or training.
  • Social Sustainability related qualifications.

In return

We reward our people generously with a competitive salary and a market-leading benefits package that gives you flexible benefits to fit your lifestyle and priorities. This includes but is not limited to, an enhanced pension scheme, discounted or full private medical, life assurance, incentive bonus and a car scheme which will make us a market leader in sustainable company travel. Applicable roles will benefit from a motoring expenditure allowance (MEA) and everyone can access a new generation of low carbon and electric cars via the Willmott Dixon run car leasing scheme.

Studies have shown that people often hesitate to apply for new jobs unless you meet all qualifications. If you're excited about this role, even if you don't tick every box on the job description, we encourage you to apply. We're committed to building a diverse and inclusive team.

We are a proud member of the Disability Confident Scheme.
