Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Social Media Manager to join our team at the Department of Health and Social Care. As a key member of our communications division, you will play a crucial role in shaping our digital content and social media strategy to promote our health and social care agenda.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement innovative social media plans to engage audiences and promote key departmental messages.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the communications division to identify opportunities to reach new audiences and build partnerships with influencers and third parties.
  • Lead on the creation and publication of high-quality digital content for key DHSC announcements and campaigns, using creative content, partnerships, and emerging digital channels.
  • Use data and evaluation to inform your work and ensure we are measuring impact and reaching our intended audiences.
  • Manage the content calendar and develop tailored strategies for DHSC's key social media channels.
  • Build strong relationships with government departments, health partners, and social media influencers to increase the reach of our key messages online.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in leading digital content and low/no-cost campaigns that are audience-focused, channel-specific, and grounded in insight and data.
  • Strong written and verbal skills, with the ability to transform complicated information into easy-to-understand content and copy for different audiences.
  • A passion for and knowledge of best digital content practice, emerging channels, and the latest tools.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience of using evaluation to analyse the impact of your work and acting on results to revise your approach.
