Our Yorkshire Division, located in Leeds is looking to recruit a Construction Manager to join the Division’s Construction team. The Role The role of the Construction Director carries overall responsibility for the management and success of the construction department, with focus on delivery of all targets and objectives within the constraints of time, cost and quality. Principal accountabilities of the Construction Manager role include: Ensure compliance with the Group's Health and Safety policy and Bellway Fire Policy to ensure safe working environments across all developments and attendance at all divisional Health and Safety meetings Ensure all construction teams work in accordance with Bellway customer care procedures on site Overall responsibility for the management of the Construction Department including mentoring, managing and motivating the construction team Delivery of all targets and objectives within specified timescales and budgets Maximising the profit potential of the division through robust management and monitored performance of the construction team Work closely with the sales and customer care departments to deliver exceptional customer care ratings To manage the development of sites in accordance with agreed specifications and programme / number of legal completions as agreed within the division Ensure best practice is followed at all times and that the key constraints of time, cost and quality are managed appropriately, and site preliminary/overhead costs are properly controlled Delivery of construction / management reports for Main Board and attendance and contribution at monthly valuation meetings Experience, Qualifications and Skills Experience Management experience at a senior level / Head of Construction / Senior Construction Manager Management experience of a construction function within the built environment Previous experience at management level with a volume house builder Qualifications and Training Relevant CSCS card or equivalent SMSTS certificate HND in Construction, or Level 7 Construction NVQ desirable Full UK driving licence Skills and Aptitude Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of people Ability to liaise with internal and external personnel Ability to plan and programme work methods and build sequence for sites Ability to work independently as well as part of a team Ability to lead, manage and motivate a team Control preliminary costs in accordance with budget Good administration skills Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment Ability to work on own initiative, with excellent attention to detail Proficient IT skills along with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and outlook) Committed to diversity and inclusion The Role and Working Conditions Daily travel to development sites and Divisional Head Office Willing to be flexible in respect of day-to-day duties and hours worked Core hours In return we can offer you: Competitive salary Competitive car allowance Optional salary sacrifice car scheme Competitive annual bonus Contributory pension scheme 25 days holiday, plus bank holidays Access to discounts and benefits portal ShareSave Scheme Cycle to Work Scheme Life assurance Holiday Purchase Scheme We reserve the right to close this vacancy if a large volume of applications are received
