About the Role

Gleeds is seeking a highly skilled Construction Health Specialist to join our Bristol office as we establish a Health and Safety hub in the region. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for advising clients on health and safety issues related to large construction projects, from project initiation to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as Principal Designer on a range of projects, providing crucial health and safety advice throughout the construction/design phase.
  • Monitor and assess operational construction sites to ensure health and safety standards are maintained.
  • Support business unit directors in delivering business objectives, including preparing bids for services and advising directors on project issues.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, designers, and contractors to facilitate good communication and ensure effective delivery of the Principal Designer role.
  • Assist with the coordination of health and safety aspects of design work and advise clients on their duties under the CDM regulations and other construction-related health and safety standards.
Requirements
  • Sound construction-related health and safety management experience, with a minimum of Tech IOSH qualification.
  • Experience of delivering services on a live construction site, with a comprehensive knowledge of construction methods and materials.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with a methodical approach to work and good problem-solving skills.
  • Competent ICT skills, with a high level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and lead teams, with a thorough understanding of health and safety legislation relating to construction.
