Inspection Operations Manager

Who is GDi?

We are an Aberdeen-based, leading provider of engineering and digital asset management solutions. By delivering ultra-efficient technology and safety-driven solutions, GDi helps our clients safely and efficiently manage their assets.

GDi are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and motivated Inspection Operations Manager to join our team.

Key Activities and Accountabilities:

  • Coordinates a series of activities performed by engineers and designers from a range of engineering discipline to support the timely issuing of engineering and inspection deliverables to meet project specifications.
  • Coordinate with the inspection team and planning on project time schedules, establish target completion dates, ensure target dates are achieved.
  • Direct the preparation of technical inquiry to vendors, participate in the technical evaluation of vendor bid offers. Direct and provide guidance in the evaluations, review vendor drawings and documents.
  • Review Client proposals/requirements issue enquiries, prepare equipment, material and man-hour estimates.
  • Coordinate the preparation of Purchase Orders for the procurement of equipment and materials.
  • Provision of Technical Advice to GDi and GDi’s Clients
  • Develop Manpower charts and schedules, recommend, assign and distribute manpower for the execution of engineering and construction activities within budgeted project man-hours.
  • Participate in HAZOP meeting with the client and representatives of the other engineering disciplines.

Essential Skills & Abilities & Experience

  • Vocational qualifications in Inspection, Engineering or Technical disciplines.
  • Ability to understand client requirements, proficient in scope definition through Concept/FEED/Detailed Design and support fabrication and construction.
  • Five years relevant experience in the inspection of offshore plan and equipment (recognised Plant Inspection qualification, Inspection/NDT qualifications preferred).
  • Foster positive and effective working relationships with Clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Sound time and resource management skills.
  • Cognisant of business requirements and needs and adaptable to changing environment and business requirements.
