Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Building Services HVAC Engineer to join their team. This role will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of all HVAC equipment and systems within the building services portfolio. The successful HVAC engineer's primary purpose will be to deliver mechanical services to the head office of a British luxury fashion brand. They should strive to develop an excellent relationship with the team, client, and customer based on consistent high-quality service delivery. The duties and responsibilities of the Building Services HVAC Engineer shall include but not be limited to the following. However, these instructions may be subject to review and revision to conform to the clients' requirements, which may change from time to time.

  • Supporting and complying with the delivery of the company's health and safety policy and standards.
  • Maintaining all installations as directed by the company's Integrated Solutions planned preventative maintenance systems (MCS), based on HVCA SFG20, and completing them within agreed KPIs/SLAs.
  • Repairing and rectifying faults, breakdowns, and other malfunctions to the mechanical installations at the sites, and completing them within agreed KPIs/SLAs.
  • Being conversant with mechanical disciplines, although formally qualified in a mechanical discipline and flexible in their approach to work, hours of work, and travel arrangements.
  • Instructed works will primarily relate to the individual technician's trade. However, the team's objective is offering multi-skilled operations. On that basis, mechanically qualified technicians will be expected to carry out mechanical works and related FM disciplines.
  • Working closely and liaising with supplier partners to deliver services to required timescales.
  • Accurately and legibly completing work reports, maintaining site logbooks, and writing ad-hoc reports as required.
  • Keeping in mobile contact with the designated Helpdesk and line manager, as directed.
  • Interfacing with ISS teams (energy management, projects, audits, health and safety) and other teams within BTMU to ensure contract compliance at all times.
  • Being fully conversant with statutory requirements and site-specific health and safety regulations operated on sites, including (but not exhaustive) any Permit to Access/Work systems, Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and Site Operating Procedures.
  • Operating in accordance with contract operating procedures such as materials control, material requests, asset reviews, logging of site attendance, overtime recording.
  • Conforming to internal reporting procedures for timesheets, expenses, and other processes as required (holiday & sickness).
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of offices, plant rooms, workshops, and storage areas.
  • Working flexible hours to meet the business's needs, including supporting a call-out rota and attending emergency call-outs.
  • Maintaining personal engineering knowledge in line with current standards and changing legislation. Creating, owning, and managing a personal development plan.
  • Managing contractor inductions when required and contract control of contractor's process.
Qualifications:
  • A formal apprenticeship, City & Guilds, or another recognized qualification in mechanical engineering
  • A Building Services qualification (desirable)
  • An Air Conditioning - F gas qualification (desirable)
