Job Description

The Programme Lead- Capital Projects is accountable to the Patient Services & Strategic Programmes Director for the successful delivery of the Capital Projects Development Programme for The London Clinic

  • Job Type: Full Time, permanent position.
  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week; Mon - Fri within the core hours of 9am - 5.30pm.
  • Location: The London Clinic across sites - W1G 6BW

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Be the professional expert for The London Clinic in matters of property and capital projects.
  • Input into the development and design of the Estate Masterplan and manage the implementation of the strategy to link into the overall strategic plan for The London Clinic.
  • Be responsible for managing stakeholder relationships across the organisation and with the local community on estates issues which might affect them.
  • Be a member of the Silver On-Call roster*
  • Motivate and direct departmental management to lead their teams in a way that is coherent with the vision and values of The London Clinic, ensuring that employee relations issues are managed, team administration (SMT, leave etc) is compliant, that staff are competent to perform their roles and that issues are appropriately addressed.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to design, procure and deliver the projects working to time and budget within any operational constraints.
  • Direct and lead the Minor Works team in a programme of project work to develop and refurbish the infrastructure of The London Clinic.
  • Undertake project feasibility exercises inc. cost plans and input into client business cases in line with the wider Capital funding plan.
  • Ensure compliance on projects - e.g. CDM; Building Regs & Planning; HTM's; IPC etc.
  • Provide monthly reports on cost, progress, quality, disruption and risks.
  • Obtain the relevant authority approvals for all new build or changes to the existing estate.
  • Ensure that The London Clinic abides by all relevant professional, legal and best practice guidelines and frameworks to ensure that our people, patients and contractors are in a safe working environment.

Skills & Experience

  • Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams.
  • Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.
  • Strategic decision-making capability and ability to negotiate at a high level
  • Proven experience and track-record in the successful delivery phase of projects and programmes.
  • Deep property or infrastructure project management expertise - ideally in Healthcare.
  • Advanced technical understanding of construction methodologies and project management practices.
  • Solution orientated.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, contract literate.
  • Membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.

*Silver On-call:

Tactical (Silver - Heads of Service): Ensure that the actions taken by the operational level are coordinated, coherent and integrated in order to achieve maximum effectiveness, efficiency and desired outcomes, whilst ensuring the Operational level has the means, direction and coordination to deliver successful outcomes.
