The role

To lead the continuous improvement of Unity’s Online & Mobile Banking channels by ensuring the order of feature improvement is consistent with Unity’s strategic ambitions of customer centred development. The Digital Banking Product Owner will be accountable for quality control relating to feature developments, gaining stakeholder sign off and have ultimate responsibility for all requirements whilst working very closely with the customer experience team. The role holder will ensure future developments are in line with customer need, commercial appetite and supporting Unity’s growth strategy across all product lines which includes transactional banking, payments, lending, and digital banking. The role holder will report directly to the Head of Product and work closely with key stakeholders across the bank to support broader business strategy ensuring all deliverables are in line with Unity’s social impact ambitions.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • The creation and sign off digital banking requirements.
  • Deal directly with the customer experience team to deliver best in class customer journeys.
  • Be the voice of both the customer and Digital Banking within the bank.
  • Review customer feedback to include in future feature development and prioritisation.
  • Deputise for the Head of Product in all Digital Banking committees.
  • Support development of compelling products USPs that increase our competitive positioning and grow our social impact.
  • Work with the Head of Brand and Proposition to understand target market, product demand, key features and benefits across core customer segments,
  • Ownership of the digital backlog and continuous prioritisation of bug fixes in parralel with feature development.
  • Support the co-ordination of communicating new feature developments to the business.
  • Complete an annual product review for Digital Banking.
  • Use business insight, including customer feedback, to drive product and proposition development.
  • Support the development of product/proposition collateral and literature.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across all Bank functions to ensure appropriate integration of all back-end systems, processes and workflows into core of products in line with customer need (insight). Be the Customer First lead for all product and pricing related programmes.
  • Accountable for the 1st line sampling and business risk appetite for Digital Banking.

The person

We are keen to hear from experienced Digital Product Owners who can work collaboratively and have the following skills:

  • Knowledge of Agile product development lifecycle and conduct risk (E)
  • Experience in working with Digital products (E)
  • Previous Product development experience in a Bank / Financial Services (E)
  • Experience in product ownership (E)
  • Continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, people, re-organisation and the impact of new technology. This is achieved by ensuring that all actions take account of the likelihood of operational risk occurring and by addressing any areas of concern with line management and/or the appropriate department.
