Position Title: Powertrain Calibration/System Performance Engineer

Our Client has a number of exciting opportunities for Calibration/System Performance Engineers to work in the NRMM and related industries. Our Client is a World Class engineering powertrain consultancy, delivering robust projects and technical services for major clients across multiple sectors. They are looking for passionate & pro-active engineers at the top of their game and with all levels of relevant experience, from recent graduates to time-served Chartered Engineers. This is an opportunity to become part of a professional Team working on projects that make a real difference to the sector and the world we live in.
These roles will see the successful candidates embedded in client teams, delivering projects and providing expert technical support. As a member of the Client, you will have full access to a network of the Clients' engineers & experience to grow professionally and provide focused & relevant solutions that add value to our clients & customers. The roles will typically cover a variety of functions and disciplines, including ICE calibration, powertrain system performance development, data analysis, issue investigation & resolution, system modeling, and simulation. Some industry or academic experience is preferred, but training will be offered & given to candidates as required.
Planning, execution and analysis of engine & system simulation activities
# System performance assessment, including trade-offs and data analysis
# Data review and root cause analysis (RCA) to identify powertrain system issues & develop solutions for resolution
# Work with other company's & Client teams to deliver project objectives
# 2:1 or above Bachelors or Master's degree in a relevant topic
~ Excellent understanding of diesel internal combustion engine operation and performance
~ Working knowledge of calibration toolsets & engine calibration, including trade-offs for emissions and performance
~ Excellent analytical skills, able to interpret data and results and present results in a clear & understandable format
~ Strong team player, with good communication & English language skills
~ PhD in a relevant subject
Knowledge of the off-highway (NRMM) or heavy-duty on-road sector, including emissions legislation (Stage V, Tier 4 final, etc)
Experience of using calibration and data analysis tools (e.g.: An understanding in the techniques, process, toolsets & methodology for Virtual Calibration
Expert NRMM ICE experience (calibration, analysis & simulation)
Good knowledge of NRMM machines and associated systems
