Salary: £84,156

Contract Type: Fixed term - 18 months

Advert closing date: Tuesday 18th June

Wellcome is a global charitable foundation. We improve health for everyone by funding science, leading policy and advocacy campaigns, and building partnerships.

We plan to spend £16bn over the next ten years, funding discoveries in life, health and wellbeing and taking on three global health challenges: mental health, infectious disease and climate.

These challenges need the bold science we support, but science won’t solve them alone.

We are now recruiting for a Senior Manager, Product Lines Transformation , on a fixed-term contract for 18 months to lead the development and implementation of SaaS products and technologies and the delivery of transformational change programmes across the organisation. You will play a critical role in shaping Wellcome's key product line strategy and ensuring the successful adoption of new technologies and processes.

We are looking for someone who can consistently maintain a helicopter view whilst also having the ability to get hands-on when you spot the requirement for you to do that . Someone who has a natural ability to form relationships at all levels and can build excellent rapport quickly, instilling trust in the quality services provided by your teams. Experience leading teams of DevOps engineers is beneficial, and agile delivery and product management experience is essential.

What will I be doing?

You will work across four diverse teams with different transformational change programmes, responsibilities, and skill sets and will bring them together for everyday purposes, goals, and modes of operation.

Elements of the teams' work are regulated, so a remarkable ability to manage risk will be really important . Building relationships with stakeholders will also be critical, as you will help them appreciate the importance of controls, embrace change, and foster an innate desire to try new things while working as one team to achieve the common goals and mission.

Financial management , which extends to negotiating contracts and supporting the teams in managing their suppliers, is also an expectation of this role , as it will be accountable for a wide range of products and systems and their life cycles .

We are looking for someone who can:

  • Lead and manage the Wellcome product lines team's current workloads and practices while undertaking significant change .

  • Deliver and manage transformational change programmes for the product line teams.

  • Develop and execute transformational change, programmes and strategies, ensuring alignment with D&T's strategic roadmap and Wellcome’s overall mission.

  • Identify and assess potential risks and challenges with change programmes across several product lines.

  • Develop the teams to be able to define clear project goals, objectives and deliverables and establish performance indicators to measure success.

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, fostering excellent product management techniques and a mindset of change and innovation

  • Provide guidance and support to the project and product line teams , which are supporting the projects and adopting a new target operating model for D&T product lines.

  • Contribute to a diverse and inclusive culture across the organisation, collaborating across departments.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, engineering, or business administration) is required . A master's degree is preferred.

  • Proven experience in product management, digital transformation, and leading change programmes within a technology-driven organisation.

  • Strong understanding of digital technologies, including cloud computing, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and mobile applications.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams.

  • Experience in change management and driving organisational transformation.

  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving environment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

If you are looking for your next challenge and this role inspires you, we want to hear from you.

To apply please upload your CV and complete our short application form .

Interviews will be held the week commencing 1st July.
