Unity Lead Developer

Lead Developer required for a new contract role with a leading IT company who continue to grow and improve their processes and capabilities. Initial three-month contract available, working remotely on weekdays. Competitive pay and good prospects available for the successful applicant.


This role would suit candidates from a software development background with IT industry experience and IT knowledge. 

The Job Role:

Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and direction to the development team, ensuring high-quality code and adherence to best practices.

 

Feature Development: Design, implement, and optimise new features and gameplay mechanics using Unity and C#.

 

Maintenance and Improvement: Address and resolve bugs, performance issues, and other technical challenges to maintain and enhance the game’s quality.

 

Planning: Participate in planning meetings, contribute to project timelines, and help prioritise tasks to meet deadlines effectively.

 

Code Review: Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure coding standards and practices are followed.

Strong Technical Skills: Proficiency in C# and extensive experience with Unity, including a deep understanding of game architecture, optimisation, and performance.

 

Engineering Excellence: A commitment to writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code, with a focus on quality and best practices.

 

Team Collaboration: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

 

Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing technical challenges.

Experience Required:

At least 5 years of experience in developing 2D applications using Unity.

At least 3 years of experience leading the development of applications, including designing the technical architecture.

Proven track record of leading the development of an application that successfully launched and engaged users.

Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical abilities are essential.

Experience managing outcomes of team members is advantageous.

Proven ability to achieve project objectives.

Excellent attention to detail.

Enterprise IT background covering networking, compute, and storage is advantageous.
