What you would be doing

We are seeking a highly skilled Formulation Specialist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in pharmaceutical or related sciences and an understanding of formulation science. You will be working in a multidisciplinary team, translating and collaborating on ideas and codeveloping technology.

Responsibilities

·      Design, develop, and optimise aerosol delivery formulations for a variety of biopharmaceuticals.

·      Apply advanced formulation principles to ensure the effective delivery of biologics to the lungs.

·      Conduct and develop in vitro experiments to assess formulation efficacy, stability, and safety.

·      Analyse and interpret experimental data to inform formulation optimisation.

·      Collaborate with engineers and other cross-functional teams to develop and evaluate experimental hardware.

·      Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in biopharmaceutics, formulation science, and respiratory drug delivery.

·      Contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced startup environment, where your ideas and contributions will be valued.

·      To present Microsol’s technologies and scientific capability at international conferences.

What we need from you

As key member of a small team you must have a positive, initiative-taking attitude and a high level of motivation. Very strong communication and teamwork skills, as well as a passion for the science – developing innovative respiratory drug delivery solutions for biologics – are also required. Your ability to communicate your own expertise and understand information from others will be essential. The demands on a startup’s time can change rapidly and so you will need to be highly adaptable with the ability maintain organisation, prioritise, and manage time and workloads. Overall, you will be responsible for leading in-lab formulation development, designing and executing chemical and biological analyses.

Skills and experience we are looking for

·      To be working towards or to hold a PhD in pharmaceutics or a relevant scientific field, or to hold equivalent experience or qualifications.

·      Experience in formulation development, preferably (but not limited to) within the context of respiratory drug delivery.

·      An innovative, problem solving and collaborative mindset.

·      Outstanding communication skills, including for giving presentations and scientific writing.

·      Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced startup environment.

Location and commitments

·      Full time role.

·      Based in laboratory facilities in Bristol.

o  Flexible/hybrid working negotiable.

·      Overtime may be required in line with external deadlines.

·      Travel to clients and conferences may be required from time to time, expenses will be covered.
