Deputy Chief Technology Officer/VP of Engineering
We are thrilled to present a unique opportunity for an individual to join a team in a leadership role, overseeing a significant software deployment project within the public sector. As Deputy Chief Technology Officer, you will lead dynamic full-stack development and deployment teams, contributing to the seamless integration, rollout, and support of their software solutions across both on-premises and secure cloud environments. Collaborating closely with diverse stakeholders, including customer representatives, solution architects, academics, and prominent software development firms, you will maintain a balance of on-site presence at client locations, particularly in Milton Keynes, London, and Wiltshire, while also embracing remote work flexibility.
Requirements:
- Proven expertise in Application Design gained through hands-on experience.
- Demonstrated ability to specify, design, build, and validate complex full-stack software solutions.
- Specialized proficiency in designing and implementing APIs.
- Thorough understanding of Microsoft and Linux environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid practical knowledge of relational database technologies.
- Experience with DevOps methodologies and successful deployment in live projects.
- Proficiency in Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Exposure to integrating open-source software.
- Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence solutions, including GPU architectures.
Essential Skills:
- Highly proficient in at least two backend languages, ideally Java and Python.
- Knowledge of Secure DevOps Practices.
- Experience with Docker.
- Proficiency in JavaScript and React.
- Proactive approach to software and API documentation.
- Strong data analysis skills with a demonstrated analytical mindset.
- SC Clearance.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience working in Scaled Agile Environments.
- Previous DevOps experience in Defence & Security or another public sector domain.
- DV Clearance.
