Salary up-to £12.25 to £12.75 per hour

Job Summary:

Manage daily operations in one of the four main F&B outlets - Courtyard Café, Boathouse Café, Coffee Shop and Fitzroy Café ensuring seamless functionality and delivering exceptional customer service aligned with the Castle Howard brand. Supervise and lead the catering team in each outlet. Be involved with planning and delivering banqueting or hospitality events. On occasion, run one of our 4 catering horse trailer, serving barista coffee, ice cream or hot food.

Duties & Responsibilities


  • Supervise all catering employees monitoring performance, attendance and sickness, reporting any concerns to the Food and Beverage Operations Manager.
  • Conduct daily briefings with the team.
  • Complete stock order forms accurately to ensure appropriate stock levels for each group unit.
  • Be actively involved in the production and delivery of training materials.
  • Train, mentor and support all team members, including new starters, setting expectations and measuring against these.
  • Use the EPOS system to support accurate stock records.
  • Use the EPOS system as a reporting tool for the outlets’ performance.
  • Ensure all produce is prepared, served and displayed in a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Ensure all food safety procedures are adhered to including daily temperature charts and cleaning schedules.
  • Be responsible for carrying out the emergency evacuation procedure.
  • Deal with and report any customer complaints
  • Liaise with other Catering Supervisors and share best practice.
  • Operate and cash up all tills on a daily basis, accurately completing appropriate paperwork.
  • Be responsible for ensuring all catering waste management procedures are adhered to.
  • Communicate well and demonstrate a pleasant and polite personality.
  • Ensure the appropriate staffing levels are maintained in the catering outlets at all times.
  • Assist at any special functions, some of which may occur outside of working hours.
  • Carry out all aspects of Food Safety and Health and Safety and operate in accordance with Castle Howard’s Health and Safety policies at all times.
  • Undertake any other duties as may be reasonably required
