The Role


Being passionate about 3D and appreciating the unique processes that coincide with real-time, will be essential to the success of each project. You will need a keen eye for detail and produce design work to the highest possible standard in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in digital art and a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and workflows.


As a Mid Real-Time Artist, you will be responsible for transforming architectural concepts and designs into stunning visualisations that bring our projects to life.


Being passionate about 3D and appreciating the unique processes that coincide with producing high quality images, will be essential to the success of each project. You will need a keen eye for detail and produce design work to the highest possible standard in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities


  • Assist in creating, optimising, and maintaining real-time 3D assets, materials, and textures.
  • Collaborate with senior artists and the development team to ensure assets meet the technical and aesthetic needs of the project.
  • Integrate assets into game engines (Unreal Engine, Unity, etc.), ensuring optimal performance and visual quality.
  • Work with shaders, lighting, and rendering techniques to achieve the desired real-time effects.
  • Participate in art reviews and respond to feedback to improve assets and environments.
  • Maintain proper documentation of assets and ensure they adhere to project pipelines and technical requirements.
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies related to real-time graphics and optimization.
  • Exposure to work on a variety of industries and sectors from start up’s to high end luxury brands, architecture, product design and space engineers to name but a few.
  • Assist the wider Real-Time Team with creating high-quality 3D environments for real-time experiences using Unreal Engine and 3DS Max.
  • Support and collaborate with the design team to ensure that environments meet creative and technical requirements under the guidance of senior members.
  • Collaborate with project leads to understand project requirements and objectives.
  • Optimise assets and projects for performance and visual quality.
  • Create animated sequences.
  • Produce virtual production work.
  • Continuously improve workflows and techniques to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions to contribute ideas and insights.
  • Learn and apply texturing, lighting, and rendering techniques to enhance visualisations.
  • Continue to develop designs based on feedback from senior team members and clients to refine the final output.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in architectural visualisation.
  • Collaborate and work in a cohesive and immersive way across all departments to develop and meet the needs of the project and client.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines and quality standards.
  • Assist and help the wider Real-Time team with finding and collating all the required assets needed for the project to contribute to the scene creation, ensuring inhouse workflows and procedures are adhered to both effectively and efficiently.
  • Willing to collate and compose reference imagery documentation for the initial briefs of all projects.
  • Create and deliver on projects that require different forms of media and creative content.
  • Develop and implement advanced real-time shaders and lighting solutions.
  • Optimise assets and scenes for real-time performance by managing polycount, textures, and LODs, and using efficient techniques like baking and instancing.
  • Provide artistic and technical guidance to junior artists, mentoring them on best practices.
  • Participate in creative brainstorming sessions, contributing innovative ideas and solutions for real-time challenges.
  • Ensure assets align with both creative direction and technical constraints.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to asset performance and quality in real-time environments.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in real-time technology and integrate them into production workflows.


Essential Skills


  • Experience in creating real-time environments using Unreal Engine 4 or 5.
  • Competent in using 3ds Max for 3d modelling/model processing.
  • Experience in optimising scenes and assets for real-time performance and visual quality (polycount, texture resolution, LODs)..
  • Strong understanding of PBR lighting, material and shading principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • An artistic and creative eye.
  • Willing to learn and experiment.
  • Can work efficiently to deadlines.
  • Proactive and positive can-do attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing your real-time 3D work, including examples of assets integrated into real-time engine.


Desired Skills


  • Can create animation sequences.
  • Knowledge of Blueprint scripting.
  • Experience using Datasmith.
  • Experience using Perforce, or other version control software.
  • Substance Designer, Painter, Quixel mixer or other equivalent texturing software.
  • Experience modelling in 3DS Max.
