Purpose of Role:
Support the origination and execution of renewable energy and green hydrogen/ammonia projects in South Africa, Africa and Europe.
Develop and maintain relationships with industry players based in London and Europe including project developers, infrastructure investment funds and developmental finance institutions.
Key objectives:
Grow the Nedbank renewable energy opportunity set in Africa and Europe.
Leverage relationships with European stakeholders to drive deal flow.
Support the continued best-in-class project implementation for our clients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support origination of financing opportunities including client engagements, proposal development (including composition of terms sheets and client pitches), supporting credit processes
Support implementation of financings including client commercial negotiations, legal negotiations
Develop and maintain relationships with UK and European based infrastructure investment funds and developmental finance institutions
Maximise returns across the Bank by cross selling the banks product capabilities to clients or potential clients
Key Technical skills, qualifications
Requirement
Relevant experience in structuring and implementing Project Finance with specific experience in renewable energy projects
Requirement
Relationships with infrastructure focussed investors and DFI’s
Requirement
Experience with South African and African renewable energy sector
Requirement
Good understanding of standard banking practices in the London banking market.

Relevant qualification at degree level
