We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Analyst to join our hiring partner's team. The team plays a critical role in supporting the infrastructure solutions that power the business across multiple sites.

As an Infrastructure Analyst, you will ensure the smooth operation and security of the IT environment, working with cutting-edge technologies and collaborating with vendors to provide exceptional support and service.


Office location: Wednesbury.

It is a 4+ months contract with a high probability of an extension.


Main Purposes of the Job:

  • Support the company Infrastructure Solutions: Manage and maintain hardware, software, user support, scanning, printing services, network, and cybersecurity across the business.
  • Vendor Collaboration: Work closely with infrastructure vendors to provide services and resolve any reported issues.
  • Multi-Site IT Support: Deliver comprehensive IT support services across our five sites, ensuring seamless operation and uptime.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues across various environments, including:
  • Windows servers (both virtual and physical) and PC environments.
  • On-premise and cloud-hosted solutions.
  • Communication systems—LAN, WAN, mobile, and softphone.
  • Security systems—cybersecurity, user, application, and network protection.
  • Security elements—firewall, antivirus, and patch management for Windows and core applications.
  • Implementation & Maintenance: Implement and maintain both software and hardware solutions, ensuring they are up to date-and running efficiently.
  • System Testing & Review: Conduct thorough system testing for new implementations and periodic application reviews.
  • Health Checks & Remediation: Perform regular environment health checks and lead remedial activities to maintain system integrity.
  • Software Configuration: Assist in coordinating and managing changes to software configurations.
  • Customer & User Communication: Provide clear and effective communication with customers and end users, ensuring their needs are met.
  • Desktop Support: Offer both local and remote desktop support to ensure deliverables are met efficiently.
  • IT Project Support: Contribute to ongoing IT projects, working closely with IT Management to plan, implement, and maintain Windows Server infrastructure.
  • Change Control Compliance: Ensure all work is delivered in accordance with change control procedures.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to company health and safety policies.


Requirements:

  • Technical Expertise:
  • Strong knowledge of Windows workstation and server operating systems.
  • Proficiency in virtualization technologies for servers.
  • Experience with SAN and backup technologies.
  • Experience with Mimecast.
  • Familiarity with security technologies including firewalls, antivirus, and web monitoring tools.
  • Understanding of high availability systems and disaster recovery/business continuity planning.
  • Experience with core collaboration technologies, including Microsoft Office 365, Exchange, and SharePoint.
  • General understanding of voice systems, including phone and mobile systems.
  • Team-Oriented: Proven ability to be part of, build, manage, and foster a team-oriented environment.
  • Pressure Management: Ability to work under pressure and consistently deliver results on time.
  • Quick Learner: Ability to quickly absorb and understand complex processes and systems.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
