About the Role

Cornerstone was established in 2012 as a joint venture between Vodafone and Telefonica to consolidate their mobile network infrastructure into a single grid, thereby enabling ongoing efficiencies in network design, build and operations. We are now the leading UK mobile infrastructure services provider with over 15,000 sites owned and operated in the UK, with a further 5000 third party sites managed on behalf of our two main customers. Cornerstone generates in excess of £380m of revenue and £140m of EBITDAal annually and has an estimated market cap of in excess of £3bn. Vantage Towers and VMO2 are the principle Shareholders.


Cornerstone has reached an important point in our development as a company. We have moved from being a cost optimisation focused, captive joint venture for our shareholders, to being a commercial TowerCo business operating with full P&L and Balance Sheet accountability. We are in a phase of maturing our TowerCo business and expanding into new business and growth areas and aiming to be the No.1 Digital Infrastructure & services partner of choice in the UK. We will continue to require excellence and innovation in mobile infrastructure delivery, coupled with strong customer and commercial awareness as we broaden our services scope and customer base. The Commercial Manager will report directly to the Head of Contracts & Commercial Performance.


The Contract Manager plays a critical role in the Cornerstone Sales & Commercial Team. The main purpose of the role is to deliver the successful execution and management of our key commercial arrangements with our major Partners as well as our new and evolving power as a Service (PaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), and Coverage as a Service (CaaS) contracts ensuring compliance, customer satisfaction, service level agreement (SLA) adherence, and revenue generation.


The commercial integrity of our agreements, and the outcomes they produce, are key outputs of the role. You’ll be a skilled commercial practitioner with strong negotiation, stakeholder management and legal drafting skills. Above all you’ll be a team player working within a committed sales and commercial function winning high quality business in line with Cornerstones values. You’ll act as a Thinking Partner to Account Management, Sales and Business Development colleagues to this end. Possessing a sense of ownership and

accountability for personal and team performance is vital for success in this role. You’ll consistently demonstrate gravitas and competence in your interactions both within and out of Cornerstone.


Key Responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of active contracts with our existing key customers as well as supporting of new business for PaaS, IaaS, and CaaS solutions. Evaluate contract proposals and provide recommendations aligned to the business strategic priorities. Proactively manage contract change and work closely with colleagues to optimise commercial performance in our existing contracts as well as new opportunities. Oversee contract implementation, ensuring all deliverables are met according to agreed timelines and specifications. Proactively monitor contract performance against SLAs and identify, manage and mitigate any potential risks and issues. Manage contract amendments and variations, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements. Resolve disputes and manage contract modifications and renewals. Develop and implement strategies to optimize contract lifecycle management.

  • Build strong relationships with colleagues and external key decision-makers at potential and existing customer accounts. Collaborate effectively with internal teams, including technical experts, New Business Managers and Strategic Account Leads to deliver successful outcomes for Cornerstone. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among all parties involved in contract execution. Provide strategic guidance and support to senior leaders and customer stakeholders with regards to contract related matters.


  • Maintain accurate contract documentation and ensure effective recordkeeping. Prepare regular reports on contract performance, revenue generation and customer satisfaction, conduct audits and assessments to ensure continuous improvement. Analyse contract data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvements. Prepare and present detailed reports on contract performance, compliance and strategic initiatives.

Ensure all contracts comply with relevant laws and regulations. Identify potential risks associated with contracts and implement mitigation strategies. Monitor contract performance and compliance, managing any issues that arise.


Skills and Knowledge

  • Highly experienced in contract management, preferably within the telecommunications or technology sector. Proficient in contract management methodologies and best practices. ideally possess working understanding of the mobile infrastructure landscape andexperience in PaaS, IaaS, and CaaS solutions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Ability to build strong relationships and manage customer expectations effectively. Self motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent time management and organizational skills.
