We’re looking for an Architect in the Investment Bank (Global Banking) to:
• work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their goals and improve applications iteratively and continuously in line with our Digital Principles and architecture goals
• support the team’s journey through the software delivery lifecycle and their ability to deliver policy compliant solutions
• facilitate the team’s architecture knowledge and discussion, ensuring these conform to architectural standards
• resolve interdependencies and conflicts and maintain a technical roadmap and overview of architectural gaps
• use Architecture Decision Records to document, discuss & make design decisions. Review the Solution Architecture Designs & encourage incremental changes/improvements
• collaborate with other architects to define architectural goals and standards and manage temporary solutions and technical debt remediation
• work with the teams to understand & prepare for technology and skill gaps

Your team

You’ll be working in the Investment Bank’ Global Banking technology team in London.
The team provides technology services to enable the best service for our corporate clients. The product suite ranges from client relationship and deal lifecycle to primary issuance, secondary trading and risk calculation.

Your expertise

• Ideally 3 years or more of experience with creating application architectures using Microsoft Azure
• hands on experience with implementing enterprise systems with Microsoft technologies
• broad exposure/understanding of different architectural and design patterns (e.g. web/event/batch, bare-metal/serverless, stateful/stateless, HA/DR)
• familiarity with agile/iterative/continuous improvement & its application to architecture
• knowledge of cloud concepts/patterns/practices and technologies
• proven delivery of cloud solutions, including migration & modernizing legacy applications
• preferably hands on experience with a range of Azure Services and infrastructure as code techniques
• successful comprehension of complex and diverse application contexts
• ability to propose balanced solutions, implementing functional & quality attributes within timelines & budget
• strategic thinker and excellent communicator, able to coach, lead and convince
• ability to partner with other IT and business teams in the context of software delivery
• comfortable working in a team with diverse backgrounds and cultures in a distributed team environment
