Digital Waffle is looking for a talented IT Infrastructure Engineer to join a dynamic team at a thriving managed service provider based in the heart of Birmingham. They specialise in delivering cutting-edge Microsoft cloud solutions to their diverse client base.


About the Role:

As an IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and managing their clients’ IT infrastructure. You will be responsible for:

  • Designing and implementing cloud-based solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform, leveraging services such as Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Virtual Networks, Azure Storage, Azure Active Directory, and Azure Resource Manager.
  • Managing and maintaining on-premises infrastructure, including server virtualisation (Hyper-V, VMware), network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls), and storage solutions (SAN, NAS).
  • Providing Tier 3 technical support to clients, troubleshooting complex IT issues, and resolving problems efficiently through remote support tools and incident management systems.
  • Collaborating with sales and customer success teams to deliver exceptional client experiences and ensure alignment with IT service management (ITSM) best practices.
  • Keeping up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies, including cloud computing, virtualisation, network security, and IT automation.

  • Proven experience in IT infrastructure engineering, with a strong focus on Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, and SharePoint.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Azure, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings, with a strong understanding of cloud migration strategies and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), server administration (IIS, SQL Server), and storage technologies (SAN, NAS).
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with a proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex IT issues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation, with a focus on building and maintaining customer relationships.
