What does a great Finance Manager do?

This role will leverage the data from a team of 4 Analysts to be the sole point of contact for the regional business partners for Opex including for understanding, analysing and explaining current numbers and forecasts to enable in-depth understanding of performance, operations, market, customers, competitors and risk. This position requires an individual who can collate and consolidate information, analyse results and effectively communicate them to key stakeholders.The role will manage an intern as a direct report.


Responsibilities include:

  • The role will be responsible for integrating a newly formed team to building consistent practices and processes across Agency Commerce and Enterprise Technology
  • Responsible for managing the various stakeholders both commercially and within finance this role will be having to understand requirements and drive world class practice through the team to ensure great outputs
  • This role is responsible for Opex analytics globally for the Agency and Travel partners business, you will be responsible for producing in-depth analysis into the key drivers of spend
  • Responsible for budget and forecast data collation and inputs as well as analysis and understanding this role will be a key part of our budget and forecast cycle processes
  • Ensure month end close numbers are understood and correct with any unresolved issues highlighted and escalated as appropriate. All diligence will need to be completed in line with month end timetable and input and commentary created for close calls
  • A close partnership will need to be built between this role and the business partner roles analyst roles to ensure an in-depth understanding of the numbers and expectations
  • Close alignment with Enterprise Technology including month end reporting
  • Essential reviews and analysis of Power BI across Agency and Travel Partners to support reporting to key stakeholders
  • Rationalisation of structure reporting to align with stakeholder needs including the implementation of reviewed structures with FMR, TM1 and Oracle
  • Assist in the monthly preparation of reporting packs issued to Senior Management.
  • Delivering process improvements while enhancing current solutions
  • Delivering high quality information to tight deadlines for all levels of management
  • Support Strategic Projects on an ad hoc basis
  • Ad-Hod FP&A support where needed


Who we are looking for in this role:

  • Analytical with strong business acumen
  • Management experience would be advantageous.
  • Proven track record in support role.
  • Self-starter with initiative and the ability to communicate ideas effectively
  • Qualified accountant (CIMA or ACCA), or late-stage active studier.
  • Practical and proven experiences in an accounting environment
  • Good interpersonal skills, and an ability to tailor their approach to deal with different levels of management
  • PC literacy requiring experience in PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI. Cognos & Oracle - beneficial
  • The position requires a team player demonstrating maximum flexibility
  • Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment
  • Must be consistent with a good standard of work, disciplined and deadline conscious
  • Proven communication & relationship building skills
  • Ability to work with all aspects of the finance team
  • Knowledge of the Travel Industry a benefit but not a prerequisite.
