Senior QA Automation Engineer - London


We’re delighted to be helping one of our scale-up clients as they look for a Senior QA, with particular skills in JavaScript testing and automation to work across a host of ESG products in order to deliver the best user experience possible.

As the team transitions away from manual QA towards a more automated testing environment, you will take ownership of the automation testing framework and contribute to strategies for both functional and non-functional automation testing.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain automation testing frameworks for their full stack JavaScript applications (Node, React, TypeScript).
  • Collaborate closely with the engineering teams to guide and coach them on best practices for test automation.
  • Establish strategies for non-functional testing, such as performance testing.
  • Ensure that the application is comprehensively tested and that the team’s output meets quality targets.
  • Work with delivery teams to guide test coverage for tickets, ensuring automated tests follow guidelines and provide sufficient coverage.
  • Oversee the use of automation testing tools such as Jest, Cucumber & Playwright
  • Testing APIs using Postman or Fiddler

Please note that the company work in a hybrid fashion and there is an expectation that this person will be able to come into their London office once per week.

However, this is open to candidates across the UK and if that is not feasible due to location or personal circumstances, this can be flexed to once per month.


Ideal Candidate:

  • 5+ years of experience building automated testing solutions in TypeScript/JavaScript.
  • Experience building and maintaining automation frameworks for both functional and non-functional testing.
  • A strong attention to detail, with a commitment to ensuring high standards of quality.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Adaptable, ambitious, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • A deep understanding of QA processes, ensuring a holistic approach to quality engineering
  • Familiarity with cross-browser testing tools like BrowserStack would be advantageous
  • Experience working closely with manual QA engineers and development teams.
