Senior E-Drive Controls Engineer (Electrical Drives / Power Electronics)


As a Senior E-Drives Controls Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in designing, implementing, and optimising control systems for electric drives (e-drives) and power electronics. Your expertise will contribute to developing electrified automotive powertrains and motor controls.


Responsibilities:

  • Design control algorithms & strategies (using MATLAB/Simulink) and auto code generation of production intent code
  • Conduct detailed component-level analysis to identify high-stress conditions.
  • Explore advanced circuit topologies, board packaging, and manufacturing technologies to enhance circuit performance and fault tolerance.
  • Integrate discrete components into hybrid ICs to improve functionality and reduce cost, size, and weight.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and suppliers to transition concepts to production.
  • Evaluate IGBT-based power modules and contribute to their design, sizing, characterization, and control.
  • Knowledge of power electronics topologies and simulation techniques


Qualifications:

  • Relevant Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronics, or related fields.
  • Desired skills include knowledge of radiation effects, the latest power electronic devices, and circuit-solving methods.
  • Familiarity with 460 V variable speed drives and electrical and magnetic materials.
  • Experience in developing and testing control algorithms in MATLAB/Simulink
