About the Job

We are seeking an experienced E-Drive Controls Engineer to join our client's team.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of E-Drive and Power Electronics Control Systems
  • Capture and analyze requirements from various stakeholders
  • Design control algorithms and strategies using MATLAB/Simulink
  • Generate production intent code
  • Design system diagnostics and CAN communication specifications
  • Develop diagnostic and safety monitoring strategies
  • Develop validation tests for electrical test bench, HiL, and vehicle
  • Provide expertise for investigations and problem-solving activities
  • Support system and hardware DFMEA and functional safety analysis
  • Manage technical delivery of suppliers

Requirements:

  • Background in Electrical Drive Control Software Development
  • Experience in developing and testing control algorithms in MATLAB/Simulink
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic or Control System Engineering
  • 5+ years' experience working with real-time embedded control systems
  • Knowledge of Power Electronics Topologies and Simulation Techniques
  • Knowledge of Electrical Drive Topologies and their Drive Control
  • Experience with data logging and calibration tools (INCA, CANalyzer, CANape)
  • Experience with automotive communication protocols: CAN/CAN FD
  • Experience with applying automotive software quality
  • Direct experience in the Automotive Industry
  • Experience with applying system engineering methods

Desirable Skills:

  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills, including the ability to write clear documentation
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a cross-functional team
  • Working knowledge of Functional Safety Standard ISO26262
  • Experience with hybrid and battery electric vehicles
  • Experience with undertaking DFMEA at System and Sub-System level, with good logical reasoning
  • Organized and able to prioritize effectively
