One of our large biotech clients are seeking a Protein Biochemist to support their innovative work.
Client
The client has had considerable year on year growth and we have worked extensively with the client placing over 40 people into their teams and receiving positive feedback from this. They are a large biotech that focus on their pioneering research. With 11% growth in the last two years and an average employee tenure of over 6 years, they are committed to being a driven and positive workplace.
Role
The role is for a protein biochemist to work on their drug discovery projects. You would be carrying out the expression and purification of recombinant proteins including multi-pass membrane proteins for structural studies. This role works cross functionally with other parts of their protein team and would use a number of purification techniques and platforms that allows them to work with their team to achieve new information that helps inform their drug discovery strategy.
Requirements
- Knowledge of cell expression systems
- Strong proficiency with purification techniques of affinity chromatography, HIC, SEC and ion exchange
- Knowledge of AKTA purification platforms, experience manipulating protein and DNA sequences, use of Pymol and similar software
