Job Summary:
The Quarry and Production Manager will oversee all production management control activities, including managing material flows and inventory to meet cost, quality targets, and production schedules. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills to analyse production data, identify potential improvements, and implement solutions that enhance performance while minimizing disruptions. The Quarry and Production Manager will also work closely with other department managers to align manufacturing activities with current and future product needs. Additionally, this role involves managing and monitoring employee performance, ensuring high levels of attendance, quality, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Management:
Oversee and control all production management activities to ensure efficient operation of quarry and production processes.
Manage material flows and inventory levels to achieve cost and quality targets.
Develop and maintain production schedules, ensuring timely delivery of products.
Analyse production, maintenance, and malfunction records to identify areas for improvement.
Recommend and implement solutions to improve performance and minimize disruptions to manufacturing schedules.
Operational Coordination:
Liaise with functional and operational area managers to understand their product needs.
Develop plans, cost estimates, and schedules to integrate these needs into existing manufacturing activities.
Ensure that production activities align with business objectives and customer demands.
Quarry Management
You will be responsible for the safe and efficient management and operation of the busy quarry
You will demonstrate a sound knowledge of crushing and screening using static plant, maintenance activities on both fixed and mobile plant, experience in blasting, and can effectively plan and organise quarrying operations.
Health, Safety, and Compliance:
Ensure all quarry and production operations comply with safety regulations and company policies.
Promote a safe working environment and lead initiatives to improve workplace safety.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Production Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in a production management role within a quarry or similar environment.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Familiarity with production control systems and inventory management.
Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
