Business Development Manager – Battery Recycling & Logistics
My client is a leader in battery recycling and resource recovery, is looking to appoint a Business Development Manager to drive growth and strategic partnerships in the UK and EU. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work at the forefront of the circular economy, engaging with key industry players in the battery sector.
The Role:
Reporting to the Director, Head of European Upstream Sales, the Business Development Manager will focus on two key areas:
- Developing and managing compliance scheme contracts in the UK (covering all battery types).
- Expanding access to Li-ion batteries for recycling through partnerships with OEMs, battery manufacturers, collectors, and waste battery producers across the UK and EU.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of regional sales strategies to expand key account relationships.
- Develop and implement customer key account plans, setting financial growth targets and aligning with technical, marketing, and operational initiatives.
- Manage commercial negotiations with both existing and prospective partners.
- Deliver market and customer insights to strengthen business integration and long-term cooperation.
- Drive the growth of existing accounts and acquisition of new customers and suppliers.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across commercial, logistics, finance, and operations teams to exceed customer expectations.
- Monitor market trends and identify new business opportunities.
- Stay up to date with evolving industry standards and regulations.
Candidate Profile:
- Degree (Bachelor's/Master's) in a relevant technical or business discipline.
- Proven experience in B2B sales and business development in recycling, batteries, or metals industries.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills with a results-driven mindset.
- Industry network in waste, recycling, or logistics is highly beneficial.
- Understanding of battery technologies in production or recycling is an advantage.
- Ability to develop profitable solutions for complex commercial challenges.
- Strong commitment to HSE and quality standards.
- Experience working in a multicultural team environment.
