If so this Business Development Manager role would be the perfect opportunity to drive market growth for a technical engineering consultancy that is pushing the boundaries of global innovation within the electric propulsion domain.


This role is available on a contract or permanent basis.


Responsibilities: Business Development Manager:


  • Winning and opening new client opportunities across global Aerospace and Defence, Off-highway and marine markets
  • Growing and developing relationships with new and existing customers for their electrification and control system needs
  • Identifying and preparing bids and proposals for potential customer electrification projects


Your Role: Business Development Manager


  • Identify and win new business opportunities and territories for the company across OEM Aerospace, Defence, Marine or Off-highway sectors
  • Develop relationships within the existing aerospace and defence customer base as well as establishing relationships with new customers
  • Conduct regular market research identifying key market trends that influence R&D strategies and technology roadmaps
  • Research organisations, sectors, territories and individuals to identify appropriate new leads and potential new clients within the Aerospace, Defence, Marine or Off-highway sectors
  • Negotiate contracts and commercials terms with new clients and ensure the successful kick-off of all new projects
  • Successful sell company services while also supporting customer needs to ensure mutually beneficial projects


Your Background: Business Development Manager


  • Degree qualified in engineering – electronics, electrical, software, mechanical etc
  • A good technical background within the Aerospace, Defence, Off-highway or Marine market with a focus on control systems or electric powertrain is preferred
  • Ability to independently scope out and win new clients and project opportunities is imperative
  • Skilled in preparing project proposals, presenting to customers and negotiating contracts
  • A proactive, driven and tenacious sales approach with strong attention to detail, meeting deadlines and sales targets
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build good relationships with colleagues and clients from all cultures
  • Highly customer focused and able to understand technical customer related issues in order to sell company services and technologies


The Business Development Manager will be working with clients across the UK, EU and APAC regions so a willingness to travel is required.
