Role Overview:

European Professional Services division is seeking a skilled and client-focused Professional Services Consultant. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, installing, configuring, and training clients on our advanced solutions, ensuring successful project delivery across multiple client engagements. This position requires a hands-on approach and the ability to manage complex implementations in a fast-paced environment. Occasional travel to client sites is required, where you will work closely with clients to address their needs and drive project success.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, configuration, and delivery of tailored solutions across client projects, utilizing the SmartStream application suite.
  • Develop and implement custom/bespoke solutions in collaboration with project teams and end-users.
  • Troubleshoot system environments, manage data controls, and resolve operational issues.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation to ensure accessible knowledge transfer.
  • Communicate project status, customer concerns, and potential risks to project stakeholders.
  • Track project efforts in tracking software, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.


Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Technical Proficiency: Solid knowledge of PCs, Windows software (MS Office, MS Project), and Operating Systems (UNIX, LINUX, Windows).
  • Database Expertise: Competent in RDBMS, particularly Oracle and SQL Server, with strong SQL skills.
  • Financial Messaging: Understanding of financial messaging, including SWIFT, and payment processing (ACH, netting, correspondent banking).
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, research, diagnose and solve technical and business problems.
  • Project Experience: Proven experience in software implementation processes within the Financial Services industry, focusing on reconciliations, trade processing, and exception management.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills in English, capable of explaining complex business concepts clearly.
  • Client Interaction: Confidence in maintaining a professional image, managing client expectations, and adjusting to evolving priorities.
  • Flexibility: Willing to travel to client sites, work outside of standard hours as needed, and adapt to changing project needs.


Desirable Skills:

  • Financial Services Knowledge: Background in middle and back office trade processes, trade validation, settlement processing, and reference data management.
  • Financial Messaging Standards: Familiarity with ISITC, ISO20022, SMPG Rules, and SIA STP Best Practices.
  • Advanced Technology Knowledge: Exposure to Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, and Java programming for custom solutions.
  • Process and Workflow Management: Experience with business process re-engineering, understanding of automation impacts, and bottleneck analysis.
  • Project Management: Experience managing complex, cross-cultural teams and on/off-site collaboration.
