The role:

We are currently seeking a Graduate Building Surveyor with a degree in Building Surveying and some experience in dilapidations. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and gain exposure to a wide range of projects in a collaborative and innovative environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Dilapidations: Assist with dilapidation assessments, schedules, and negotiations on behalf of landlords and tenants.
  • Building Surveys: Conduct building surveys for various property types, including residential, commercial, and industrial.
  • Condition Reports: Prepare detailed condition reports and schedules of condition for clients.
  • Defect Analysis: Diagnose building defects, including proposals for repair, maintenance, and refurbishment work.
  • Project Management: Assist in managing refurbishment and maintenance projects, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
  • Client Liaison: Work closely with clients, ensuring clear communication and understanding of their requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Contract Administration: Support in contract administration duties, including preparation of tender documents, evaluation of tenders, and contractor management.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all projects comply with relevant building regulations, planning laws, and health and safety standards.
  • Professional Development: Work towards achieving RICS chartership by gaining the necessary experience and competencies.


What we are looking for:

  • Degree Educated: A degree in Building Surveying (RICS accredited).
  • Dilapidations Experience: Some experience in working on dilapidation assessments and reports, either through internships, placements, or post-graduation experience.
  • Technical Skills: Strong technical knowledge of building construction, repair, and maintenance practices.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and concisely.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to think critically.
  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
  • Willingness to Learn: A proactive approach to learning and professional development, with the ambition to work towards RICS chartership.
  • Driving License: A full, valid UK driving license is preferred, as the role may involve site visits across different locations.
